Zero Waste EntCom Initiative – Empowering Schools, Enterprises & Communities for a Sustainable Future
Who We Are
Partnering to nurture the mindset and daily practices of living sustainably
A national movement to reduce waste, nurture green leaders, and build resilient communities—together.
Why This Matters
The Zero Waste EntCom Initiative is more than a program—it’s a long-term ecosystem designed to transform how Malaysia’s schools, enterprises, and communities approach sustainability. By combining education, enterprise expertise, and community engagement, we create measurable impact through low-cost, high-impact actions.

We are the International Women’s Federation of Commerce and Industry Malaysia (IWFCIM) working together for our flagship initiative with a common purpose to empower schools, communities and enterprises to create a sustainable future.
Our Approach
3 way collaboration among schools, communities and enterprises
The summary of the core pillars of the 3 way collaboration are:
1. Education – 7 online modules of environmental education and learning by doing approaches. This include handling and managing waste, how to compost, recycle plastics and convert the outputs to useful components or materials that can further be used such as fertilizer, used cooking oil and other recycled products.
2. Enterprise collaboration – Enterprises will provide volunteering services, mentoring and coaching students who are future leaders as well as sharing how enterprises are implementing sustainability in their business operations.
3. Community engagement – communities are naturally the extension of any schools within the same residential area. Water tight collaboration will be beneficial in recycling community drive and sustainability awareness campaign to improve the overall health index of residents while inculcating the behaviour of practising sustainability as a daily lifestyle. It is transformative.
